What to expect

Once we’ve received your enquiry, a guide will be in touch with you to discuss your aims and objectives for the day. A few days beforehand this plan will be firmed up once we’ve checked the weather and avalanche forecasts. On the day itself expect an early start and a full day out on the hill enjoying this beautiful area. Typically you will be on a rope for some portion of this day so that your guide can look after your safety.

Who’s this for?

Our guided winter mountaineering is for anyone who has previously done some winter walking or summer scrambling.

Location

We are based around Gairloch and Torridon. However, we can travel throughout the whole of the North Highlands. Examples of routes we could do locally include; Morrison’s Gully (I) Beinn Eighe, Liathach Pinnacles Traverse (II), Deep South Gully (I) Beinn Alligin

Alternative accommodation

We recommend staying in or near Gairloch, which offers shops, a petrol station, electric vehicle charging, and some dining options. Villages such as Torridon, Kinlochewe, or Poolewe are quieter and have very limited facilities during winter.

Ratios and Pricing

In order to provide the highest level of experience and safety we maintain low ratios. Below you can see the details. All trips are considered private bookings so you will not have to worry about sharing your mountaineering day out with others and the day can be tailored to your individual needs.
