Proud members of the UK’s leading professional body for Mountaineering & Climbing Instructors
At Climb Torridon we are members of the Association of Mountaineering Instructors (AMI) – the professional membership body for holders of the Mountaineering and Climbing Instructor (MCI) qualification in summer and winter. This is the highest qualification for those who teach climbing and mountaineering in the UK.
What does AMI membership mean for you?
Highest Professional Standard: AMI members have successfully completed the rigorous training and assessment pathway run by Mountain Training UK, confirming expertise in all mountain environments.
Unregulated Activity Protection: Mountaineering is not regulated in the UK. Choosing an AMI member guarantees your guide is operating to the highest national standards for safety, instruction, and competence.
Continuous Development: Membership requires mandatory participation in Continual Professional Development (CPD), ensuring our skills are always current and we adhere to the latest industry best practices.
Insurance & Ethical Conduct: We commit to the AMI’s strict Code of Conduct and carry comprehensive public-liability insurance, giving you peace of mind on every trip.
We display the AMI logo because it is a visible promise that Climb Torridon is committed to professional excellence and client safety above all else.
